The Optimal Temperature for Bacillus subtilis Growth
Bacillus subtilis has strong survival ability at high temperatures, which makes it able to survive for a long time at 60 ℃ and survive up to 20 minutes at 120 ℃. The optimal growth temperature for Bacillus subtilis is 25-37 ℃. Within this temperature range, its reproduction rate is the fastest and its effect is also the best.
However, Bacillus subtilis can grow and reproduce normally within the temperature range of 10-45 ℃, with varying growth rates at different temperatures. At temperatures below 25 ℃, the reproduction rate slows down, but it can still maintain logarithmic growth in aquaculture, which is beneficial for certain applications.
These characteristics of Bacillus subtilis make it widely used in many industries, including those of agriculture, animal husbandry, and medicine.
